SAP and Google are forming a partnership to integrate Google Apps with SAP Business ByDesign.  This unexpected revelation came yesterday during SAP’s overview of its cloud strategy at the SAP Influencer Summit in Boston.  The partnership will allow SAP Business ByDesign customers to use Google Apps such as GMail and Google Docs from within the ByDesign environment.

Alex Williams reports on the technical details at Silicon Angle.

We have few details but SAP executive vice president Peter Lorenz did say the platform will include SAP’s Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) for transactions and procedure oriented solutions. It will also include a Java-PaaS for more collaborative apps. HANA will underly both environments.

Rahul Sood of Google Enterprise Product Management said at the Summit that the partnership between SAP and Google should accelerate adoption of the cloud.

Both Google and SAP resellers will be able to offer Google Apps and SAP Business ByDesign.

More details will be available next week when SAP and Google host a call to share information and answer questions about the partnership.

Would be so glad to see all concerned people who wonder about the potential (ideal) integration between “Google Apps” and “SAP ECC” (not “Business By Design”), in the LinkedIn group which is at http://goo.gl/5vA5p.
    Thanks.
