Best-of-Breed Recruiting Solution Added to SuccessFactors, SAP

A few days after SAP made a deal to buy SuccessFactors, SuccessFactors has made an acquisition deal of its own. SuccessFactors announced yesterday, Dec. 6, that it will buy Jobs2Web, an interactive recruiting marketing company, for $110 million.
Jobs2Web offers tools that market job opportunities and locate candidates in older venues such as paid job boards as well as newer venues such as social networks and job aggregators, and through mobile recruiting solutions such as text messaging. Jobs2Web’s SaaS platform includes search engine optimization and targeted landing pages for career sites, automated job broadcasting to multiple sites and networks, analytics and a candidate database.
The effectiveness of Jobs2Web’s recruiting solution is affirmed by its impressive customer list which includes 3M, Merck, EcoLab, Thomson Reuters and Taco Bell. SuccessFactors CEO, Lars Dalgaard, expects the Jobs2Web deal to double his company’s recruiting business. SuccessFactors anticipates that the two solutions will be complementary and will integrate well, as they are both based on a multi-tenant SaaS model. As soon as Jobs2Web becomes part of SuccessFactors, work will begin on integrating Jobs2Web into SuccessFactors’ current Recruiting Management solution in order to provide a next generation Recruiting Execution Platform.
Jobs2Web will remain a distinct business unit within SuccessFactors and will retain most of its leadership team after the acquisition as SuccessFactors, in turn, becomes a business unit within SAP. Jobs2Web’s recruiting solution should prove complementary not only to SuccessFactors’ current offering, but to SAP’s E-Recruiting solution as well. SAP E-Recruiting provides a very strong applicant-tracking system, but Jobs2Web has much more functionality in the candidate sourcing area. For example, SAP E-Recruiting currently requires a custom solution to integrate with a job board distributor, while Jobs2Web offers automated posting to job boards as well as other networks.
The acquisition of Jobs2Web by SuccessFactors is expected to close by the end of the year, before SAP’s acquisition of SuccessFactors is completed in 2012.
